Fundación Biodiversidad

LIFE Soria ForestAdapt also has the support of the Fundación Biodiversidad, created in 1998, today part of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. Its main goal is to protect Spain's natural heritage. To this end, they manage Spanish and European funds.  For more than 20 years they have been carrying out their own projects and managing calls for grants. They have allocated more than 231 million euros to support 1900 conservation projects, thanks to which they have collaborated with more than 1000 entities. In these two decades, 70% have been NGOs, associations, and foundations, 20% corresponds to Public Administrations, SMEs, and the media, without forgetting 10% from the academic sector, universities, and research centres.

Junta de Castilla y León

Junta de Castilla y León

The Junta de Castilla y León is a collaborator and finances this project, and is a strategic ally when it comes to accompanying the rest of the partners in the development of some of the actions. As an interlocutor in the Administration, it also becomes a fundamental piece to raise the results of this project to the General Directorate of Nature Conservation so that they can be valued in the next reviews of the National Forest Plan. Furthermore, after the end of the project, the Junta de Castilla y León will extrapolate the experience and the sustainable adaptation measures integrated in the management plans of the Soria forests to other action plans of the rest of the Autonomous Community.
